We are currently seeking an Assistant Barge Engineer to join our offshore accommodation barge team. This role is ideal for marine engineers looking to build a long-term offshore career while gaining hands-on experience with modern offshore machinery systems.

Job Summary

The Assistant Barge Engineer assists the Barge Engineer in maintaining and operating all mechanical and auxiliary systems onboard. The successful candidate will participate in maintenance programs, machinery inspections, troubleshooting activities, and offshore safety initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily engine room operations.
  • Support maintenance of diesel generators.
  • Monitor fuel transfer systems.
  • Maintain ballast pumps and valves.
  • Assist with freshwater generation equipment.
  • Perform machinery inspections.
  • Support troubleshooting activities.
  • Maintain engine room cleanliness.
  • Record maintenance activities.
  • Assist during audits and inspections.
  • Participate in emergency drills.
  • Monitor equipment performance.
  • Support spare parts management.
  • Follow permit-to-work procedures.
  • Comply with company HSE requirements.
  • Assist with machinery overhauls.
  • Monitor compressor systems.
  • Support hydraulic equipment maintenance.
  • Assist senior engineers during repairs.
  • Promote safe work practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years marine or offshore experience.
  • STCW certification.
  • BOSIET preferred.
  • Offshore medical certificate.
  • Good English communication skills.
