Engine Cadet – Pilot Boat – Brazil

Maritime Staffing International is recruiting for a Engine Cadet position aboard a Pilot Boat for operations associated with Brazil.

Job Description

Maritime Staffing International is seeking a qualified Engine Cadet for employment aboard a Pilot Boat operating from or supporting projects in Brazil. The successful candidate will perform the normal duties of the Engine Cadet rank while supporting safe, efficient and compliant vessel operations. Responsibilities may include watchkeeping, maintenance, cargo or deck operations, machinery support, crew coordination, safety drills, permit-to-work activities and accurate operational records according to the position. Candidates should understand international maritime safety practices, follow the vessel Safety Management System and cooperate closely with senior officers and crew. Experience on comparable vessel types will be an advantage.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Previous experience as Engine Cadet, preferably on Pilot Boat; valid STCW certificates and seafarer medical; strong knowledge of shipboard safety and emergency procedures; good English communication; ability to work in a multinational crew; familiarity with ISM/SMS requirements and planned maintenance or watchkeeping duties relevant to the rank.
